01 To observe the oil dipstick


If the amount of water in the engine oil is relatively large, the oil surface will rise. At this point, we can use the ruler to judge. Once the oil in the water content is too high, then the level will be beyond the range of lubricating oil dipstick label, it is easy to distinguish.


02  Check if the engine coolant contains oil


Check if the engine coolant contains oil. If the damage to certain parts of the engine, so the engine coolant will enter the lubrication system, and then often find the oil in the cooling liquid, so check the engine coolant is contained in a method is to test whether the oil inlet oil.


03 Observe the color and appearance of the engine oil

If you look at the appearance of the oil, you can easily judge whether it contains water.  Water free oil presents a translucent oily color, while water containing lubricants appear opaque brown or khaki.

If the oil contains moisture, then the engine runs for a period of time, the oil will be milky white, and accompanied by foam. This is due to the high temperature in the engine, the oil and coolant chemical reaction, oil will be emulsified into emulsion.

What are the consequences of oil intake?

The oil inlet light will cause the engine temperature is too high, or it will lead to more failures such as cylinder holding tile, will lead to serious engine scrap. So what are the principles that lead to these failures?

In general, the oil in the water content below 0.03%, if more than 0.1% moisture content, additives in lubricating oils (such as antioxidant, dispersant and water etc.) failure will react, performance will decline in oil.


In the engine internal high temperature, the oil will react with coolant, chemical oil will be emulsified, oil lubrication will be reduced a lot.


When the oxidation resistance of the engine oil drops, the organic acid produced by the oxidation of the oil will react with water to produce inorganic acid, which will cause corrosion to the engine parts, causing the parts to rust or damage.

The oil radiator is damaged, the radiator pipe is broken, the water outside the radiator will penetrate into the oil radiator, which leads to oil water.

Cylinder seal ring damage will lead to oil into the water


The wet cylinder liner contacts the cooling water directly, and the sealing ring at the lower part of the cylinder liner can effectively prevent the leakage of oil and cooling water. In use, the sealing ring bears a certain pressure, and sometimes the cooling water quality is bad, causing corrosion. After the engine running for a long time, the sealing ring is easy to fail.


The engine cylinder liner sealing ring, cylinder liner sealing damage is the main reason for the oil into the water, so, in checking the cause of the water into the oil, must remember to check the cylinder liner seal is intact.

Cylinder cracks easily lead to oil into the water


When the heating cylinder direct contact with cooling water, it is easy to produce cracks, cracks will occur once, cooling water directly into the cylinder and the cylinder into the oil pan, this will make the oil turned white, and white oil will cause the engine burning bad, white smoke caused problems.


Engine cylinder liner, in general, is not easy to crack, unless there is improper maintenance of the situation will appear such problems, such as the cold winter, filling antifreeze freeze without cooling water, this situation may make the cylinder liner crack. Cylinder gasket damage leading to oil intake


The function of the engine cylinder gasket is to seal the water channel and the oil channel corresponding to each cylinder and each cylinder, so as to avoid the oil water inflow.
